Description
Alice M. Cashel (1878-1958) gave her whole life to securing Ireland's freedom. She was active in the Easter Rising of 1916 and subsequently served the cause before and during the War of Independence as an organizer for political campaigns, a spy, a judge in the alternative courts set up to circumvent British "justice", and an educator.
